Woodfuel Quality Standards
This one day course is designed to help participants: understand the range of draft CEN standards for wood fuels; appreciate the different properties of wood fuel that can be specified; know how to specify wood chip fuel; know how to find out if a particular type of wood is appropriate for a specific combustion system; recognise the importance of quality assurance and labelling. The course concentrates on solid biofuels, specifically wood fuel, from forest or primary wood processing sources. It is a one day course divided into four sessions, including an outdoor based practical and demonstration.

To be eligible for RDPE funding you must be engaged in a business, organisation or social enterprise, which is dependent on agriculture or utilises any agricultural products or on woodland or utilises any woodland or forest products. Trainees must spend at least 50% of their time directly involved in farming, forestry or horticulture. If you are not eligible for funding you can still attend the course but will have to pay a higher fee.
